1/12/2024 0 Comments Ion color brilliance brightsI know you are supposed to paint the dye on your hair in sections, but like I said, I’m super unprofessional and so I just globbed it on by the handful (without gloves…don’t recommend) and worked it in like I was shampooing my hair. Make more than you think you’ll need because you don’t want to have a half-covered pink head when you realize you’re out of dye. You want the color in the bowl to be pretty close to the color you want your hair to be. The conditioner not only dilutes the color, but it also makes the dye go a lot further (I only used about ¼ tube this time around). I grabbed my mixing bowl and brush and whipped up a batch of dye using about 5 parts of conditioner to every 1 part of dye. Knowing this, I picked up a bottle of the cheapest white conditioner I could find at the store, which ended up being some 99-cent coconut-scented Suave.Īs soon as my package arrived, I ran over to my sister’s house for the moral support I needed to actually begin the process. To turn hot pink into a pastel color, you’ll need to add white until your desired level of lightness. But if you want to use Ion Color Brilliance for pastel pink hair, it is absolutely essential to mix this dye with some white conditioner in order to dilute it. If you want bright pink hair, this will do the trick. The best part? Aside from being super affordable and accessible, this line of dye comes as a pre mixed cream and is ready to use straight from the tube (No need for developer!). I heard good things about Ion Color Brilliance from some stylist friends of mine, so I ordered Ion Color Brilliance in Magenta, the most “pink” looking color I could find. Now, with all the boring stuff out of the way, let’s begin!įirst stop: Sally Beauty. Also, I’m not a professional stylist, but I’ve been researching techniques and dying my hair for 10 years–so I know a thing or two. It should be, at the very least, a pale yellow–like the inside of a banana–before attempting what I am about to show you. Let me start by saying that no matter how hard you try, you won’t be able to achieve pastel pink with any dye unless you have bleached your hair to the point of death. Here are the steps I took, what I learned and how to get the dusty rose locks of your dreams. I put my hair through the wringer, made mistakes and braved the unknown so you don’t have to. So, undeterred by horror stories of botched hair dye sessions with patchy results due to lack of experience, I decided on a whim to finally take the plunge. With suggestions from stylists, I felt confident I could achieve my pastel pink hair with Ion Color Brilliance Brights and Neon Brights. See my disclosure for more info.Īnother $200 salon visit was out of the question and it was time to take matters into my own (very unprofessional) hands.

Maybe I just haven’t earned a good enough bike yet, but the controls are a little too rigid, with drifting feeling particularly drastic. Snowsports just feel better than biking, probably due to Annecy’s experience developing Steep. I will say though, not all of the sports in Riders Republic feel equally as fun. Riders Republic is the Forza Horizon of extreme sports, and if you can get past the rubbish, it’s extremely reliable and hard to turn off. Filling up gauges, ripping open card packs, you know the drill. You’ll be pulling off 720 Switch Mistys and Bios to please your corporate sponsors, earning regular gear and new vehicles as you go. Give it a handful of hours and the better parts of the progression system will start to click into place, resulting in pure extreme sports bliss. It has taken the crown from Ghost of Tsushima as my favourite mindless podcast and music game. This is why you need to play Riders Republic. Carving through the midnight snow to Oh Wonder’s ethereal latest 22 Break gave me genuine shivers. Due to the variety of biomes, loud and quiet moments, all kinds of music will work depending on your tastes, from Jacob Collier to Inhaler to Halsey. The radio host might cut in every so often and break your immersion with some absurd one-liners, but it’s worth it for the frisson you can feel when you curate your own aesthetic. Riders Republic is a great excuse to listen to albums in full and discover new genres. Switch out the music for your Spotify playlists. It’s such a shame, but please, heed my warning. The good news is that none of this “shindiggery” matters, but you will have to grimace through Riders Republic’s first few hours before it lets go of your hand. It’s not even ironic like Amped 3 was either. I’m talking about an old man in a burger van calling you a “true ledge,” and NPCs waffling out phrases like “shiz wizzle” and “totally truesome” as you try to enjoy this mechanical peach. “How do you do fellow kids” doesn’t even cut it because Riders Republic is so off base with youth culture that it will threaten your gag reflex. It’s the kind of guff that made Jose Mourinho pull his headset off, I imagine. You’ll watch potato-quality streaming videos of races instead of actually experiencing them for a while and my god, the dialogue. There’s a renovated school bus with the word ‘TRENDING’ on it in the hub area. It makes an absolutely horrific first impression. So why do I have to turn all the audio off to enjoy it? Well, for some reason, Ubisoft decided to put the brilliant gameplay of Riders Republic into a chokehold of pure cringe. By making two of its cult game series smooch, Ubisoft has stumbled onto a peanut butter and chocolate combo. Ubisoft Annecy has clearly learned plenty from Riders Republic’s snowsport forerunner Steep, and whatever genius thought to smash that together with the vehicle-switching mechanic of the otherwise boring The Crew series deserves a raise. I imagine this is a mere taste of what it feels like to compete in actual extreme sports, without the risk of spinal discord or decapitation. You know that gutwrenching civilian vertigo you get when you crest the top of a rollercoaster or go over a steep hill in a car? Riders Republic trades in this euphoria when you’re gliding down its magnificent mountains. When you find your sport and embrace it, with all the assists off in Trickster mode, it feels utterly incredible to play. When it hits its stride, Riders Republic is a remarkable achievement in game design. If you time the landing just right, you can switch to a downhill bike and peel through a completely different biome, the wind rushing around you as you skid past trees and other players. You can arc your way through a looping rail on Rocket Skis before flipping out into the icy brush, swapping to a Wingsuit and blasting into the sky towards a mountainside. READ MORE: Ubisoft Singapore under investigation by fair employment watchdog over allegations of sexual harassment, discriminationĪnd you should, because Riders Republic is easily the most versatile extreme sports game in recent memory. It sounds drastic, but swapping out most of the game’s audio for my own made Ubisoft’s latest tolerable, and I hope you’ll consider doing the same if you decide to pick it up. Riders Republic got a lot better once I turned all of the music and dialogue off. 1/11/2024 0 Comments Tales of xillia 2 cutscenesYou can, for a few rewards, but there's no major reason to. You don't actually have to grind down the big number at all. You maybe a good handful of minimum payments and then there's a story reason why it's done. Though it is worth mentioning at least this about the debt system: eventually, it's pulled and you're not actually required to pay it back. It's not going to suddenly change to something other than what it is. If you're not into the structure, the side chapters and character focused elements, the main plot, Elle and Ludger, etc. In the trailer, we first see what seems to be Elle's father getting killed. This was the new trailer shown during the live stage event today, featuring the opening song Song 4 u by Ayumi Hamasaki and new anime cutscenes from ufotable. If you don't like it, I don't know what to tell you. This will be part one of a series of Tokyo Game Show 2012 Tales of Xillia 2 news for today. Ultimately, I think it's a great sequel and is better than the first game in a lot of ways (not every way). Tales of Berseria is a role-playing video game, where players navigate the games world through the games characters from a third-person perspective. How much effort they went to make sure there was new stuff. and then completely changing the entire leveling system to the Allium Orb when just reusing the Lilium Orb would have been easy and reasonable. The fact that they completely reworked the battle system and changed literally every single character, rebalancing and changing all of their abilities, adding new ones. Why wouldn't it reuse assets? And how is that a bad thing? If anything, the most surprising part of Xillia 2 to me is how many new assets it has. It takes place in the same world, with the same characters and was released in the same console generation. Like any system in any game, from bounties to fishing to minigames to side quests to whatever.Īnd yes, of course there are reused assets from Xillia. It's not like the game is particularly short and has to be lengthened. It's definitely meant to extend the gameplay. The idea that content being added to a game is designed to extend gameplay is a given. There are a lot of cool unlockables, fun side bosses and other things you can do, but essentially none of it is mandatory. Any average game will have significantly more diversionary stuff that you're pushed through anyway, it's just this is more obvious and visible so people sometimes get worked up over it and it gets a bad reputation like it's this insane, deep, mandatory time sink that will take dozens of hours. The debt system is something that realistically only needs about 90-120 minutes of actual investment in the entire run time of the whole game to get through if you just want to push through the main story. I'm not saying you have to like it, but I never thought the skits and cutscenes were even a tiny bit awkward. Going for something new doesn't mean the old thing was bad. Lots of great ideas and mechanics and design decisions in the Tales series weren't repeated. I definitely disagree that Ludger being silent was a bad choice and your supposition is also off base that because they didn't do it again yet immediately means it was bad. 1/11/2024 0 Comments Amphetamine crackSince meth is more fast-acting, people are more prone to getting addicted to the effects and going on binges to “chase” the high, which can lead to addiction much faster.Īnother reason people are more prone to getting addicted to meth is the method of consumption. While both substances are classified as Schedule II controlled substances by the DEA, doctors are wary of prescribing meth because of the extreme reaction triggered by the drug. The result of this is an almost immediate and incredibly intense euphoric high. In short, methamphetamine crosses the blood-brain barrier more rapidly and in greater amounts than amphetamines. There is one key difference, however, and this difference goes a long way toward explaining why meth tends to be much more addictive than ‘regular’ speed. Since methamphetamine (meth) is very similar to amphetamines (speed) in terms of their chemical make-up, they also have similar effects. For street use, however, “speed” looks like a loose powder that can be snorted, smoked, or injected. When prescribed, amphetamines come in either pill or tablet form. After taking amphetamines, the user will experience a greater ability to focus on tasks and an increased sense of productiveness.ĭoctors prescribe amphetamines to people with ADHD to help with focus and concentration, and you may be familiar with one of the most well-known drug brands: Adderall. Amphetamines ExplainedĪmphetamines are drugs that stimulate the central nervous system (CNS). Since methamphetamine (meth) is very similar to amphetamines (speed) in terms of their chemical makeup, they also have similar effects. The latter’s wide recognition may be attributed to the popular series Breaking Bad. Amphetamines are known as “speed,” while meth goes by a range of names, with “ice” or “crystal meth” being the most widely known. Since both drugs are used recreationally, you often hear their “street names” used when referring to them. But what are the differences between the two drugs, and would taking one be more harmful than the other? Difference Between Amphetamine and Methamphetamine These three effects largely contribute to their popularity as recreational drugs. According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, both drugs have the same short-term effects: They even have a similar chemical makeup, which helps to create even more confusion. Both produce a stimulant chemical high that can rapidly lead to dependence. However, it’s not difficult to see why people confuse speed, aka amphetamine, and methamphetamine. The effects of meth will be felt much faster, triggering the brain’s reward system. Methamphetamines are considered more addictive than speed because meth is more able to cross the brain-blood barrier. They both produce a stimulant chemical high that can rapidly lead to dependence.

Hard drive-based players: Devices that read digital audio files from a hard disk drive.Because they are solid state and do not have moving parts they require less battery power, will not skip during playback, and may be more resilient to hazards such as mechanical shock or fragmentation than hard disk-based players. The percentage of torque from wheel to wheel varies infinitely based upon driver demand and a myriad of electronically sensed criteria, such as wheel speed, engine speed, yaw rate and steering wheel position. Gelb sometimes takes his digital camera outside the two restaurants, although only once to document a personal trip. Takashi, who seems to have gotten the better deal, runs a more affordable branch of Sukiyabashi Jiro in Roppongi, a less staid Tokyo neighborhood. He will replace his father when - or should that be if? - the old man retires. The older, Yoshikazu, is second-in-charge at the original restaurant, in the basement of an office building in the upscale Ginza district. But both have accepted Dad's profession and techniques. They never experienced the deprivations that still motivate their father. Two of the movie's main supporting characters, Ono's sons, have a somewhat different perspective. For Ono, who as a young boy was abandoned by his father, hard times started well before American bombs began falling on his homeland. Ono's is a tale of discipline, ritual and obsessiveness, all of which are characteristic of Japanese craftsmen - especially the ones who had to rebuild their country and their lives after World War II. But most modestly sized Japanese eateries don't draw gourmets from around the world, or charge upwards of $300 (depending, of course, on the exchange rate) for a 30-minute meal. Small restaurants are common in Japan, as are family-run businesses like Ono's. His top-priced restaurant, Sukiyabashi Jiro, has but 10 seats, yet earned three Michelin stars. The crux of David Gelb's documentary can be expressed in numbers: Ono still works daily, although he was 85 when the movie was shot in 2010. First-timers, however, may wish for a little more context. The movie's first word is oishi, Japanese for "delicious," and what follows is a treat for sushi veterans. That means the limitations of both protocols are enforced on the received message. When you send an email to a phone number, that email gets converted either to MMS or SMS when it reaches the recipient. Now, we’ve explained what MMS and SMS are so you may be wondering why it’s important to know what these two are. You can send photographs, short videos, or even audio files. The biggest draw of MMS compared with SMS is its feature that allows users to send media to each other aside from just text. Also called PXT or picture messaging, MMS allows messages of more than 160 characters. The first MMS-capable phone was released in 2002 and only gained popularity from 2004 to 2005 in the US. MMS, meanwhile, is a newer technology that extends the functionality of simple SMS. The first SMS in 1992 had the standard 160 American Standard Code for Information Exchange (ASCII) character limit still in use today. This format is an evolution of earlier technology like those used in pagers, beepers, and Telex machines. SMS is used as a communication standard protocol between devices. MMS vs SMS: Their Implications When Texting from an Emailįirst off, what’s the difference between Multimedia Messaging Services (MMS) and Short Message Services (SMS)? Below is a simplified explanation for both. These have to do with character limits, ASCII character coding, network gateway domains, and how phone carriers handle their email to text feature.
